Function

The CORRALIGNER is a fully automatic web guiding system for the corrugator bridge, installed before the web tension system and the preheater. Due to the geometrical frame construction, it operates as stabilisation, unlooping and web guiding device. According to experience the use of mechanical edge guides causes damage of the web edges and web breaks, especially during width changes. The CORRALIGNER system guides the webs without mechanical contact to the edge through usage of Non-Crash-Rolls and so avoids web breaks with cost-intensive downtimes.

Function

The ELTRAC system ensures the exact alignment of medium and inner liner into the lamination process in the single facer. The integrated DR- Web Guider with high responsive proportional control aligns either both webs to a fixed point or one web according to the lateral position of the second web, which is not guided but detected. Fixed mounted scanning devices allow a web alignment without interruption of the web control function even during web width changes. The control system also compensates for oscillation webs during a splice. Optionally, a signal output is available for purpose of glue dam positioning. Use of high resolution scanning devices on the medium side allow an exact control of the glue dams according to the edge position of the medium web. The ELTRAC web guiding system for the single facer is fitted with an ELCORR compensating roller which automatically equalizes cross machine tension while precisely aligning the medium and liner webs. The ELTRAC system guides the liner and medium web exactly to the center line of the Single Facer.

Function

The E+L SPLITWEB Guiding concept was developed to take advantage of the cost savings using the low cost end rolls in the corrugating process. The end rolls are usually recycled in the paper plant, because they are undersized for standard width production. The concept of SPLITWEB utilizes these undersized rolls as medium, liner or bottom liner web. The prerequisite for SPLITWEB production is special machine equipment, such as special double mill roll stands, double web splicers and the E+L SPLITWEB guiding system. The guiding system is based on a double tracking roller assembly for two separated webs, and two seperated detection cameras. The positions of both split web outer edges are detected and stored in the control circuit. After the operator set the target gap between the two webs, the system automatically aligns the webs to match the target value. In case of full width production, the system can be switched to center guiding mode.

The SPLITWEB System merges two narrow webs (rest rolls or pre-print) to a wide web.
